Happy Saturday preschool fam! This week we had more dino fun digging for fossils, eating donuts, making puppets, and moving our body’s to music. We also learned about Jesus’ 6th miracle.
In our Bible story, Jesus was preaching in a house. The house was packed full and no one could enter because so many people came to hear about God. Outside a man who was paralyzed wanted to see Jesus but could not enter. His friends carried him up to the roof and made an opening so they could lower him down. When Jesus saw the man and his friends, He knew they believed and He said, “Son, your sins are forgiven.” But the teachers of the law were there and thought, “Who does this man think he is? Only God can forgive sins!” Jesus knew exactly what they were thinking and said, “Why are you thinking these things? Which is easier to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven’ or ‘Take up your mat and walk?’ Then Jesus turned to the paralyzed man and said, “I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.” Everyone was amazed and praised God. The Saddleback Kids version we watched this week can be found here.
Our books this week were Dinosaurs Love Donuts by Ben Okon and Arnie the Doughnut by Laurie Keller. There is a great video of each found here and here. I think I loved Arnie the Doughnut read by Chris O’Dowd more than the kids did!
We moved and grooved to some Laurie Berkner songs this week. We love I Know a Chicken and We are the Dinosaurs. They’re great for getting us warmed up on these colder days
On Thursday we finished off our week by visiting the MCLS Bookmobile, digging for fossils, and enjoying a donut during snack time! Phew! We sure fit a lot in during this short week!
Our last week of January should be pretty easy peasy. Wednesday will be afternoon chapel and our school shirt day, so wear your school themed Soar shirt. On Friday we’ll have our first basketball home game! Our theme is Alaska. We have a pretty amazing concession stand. Come out and cheer on our Warriors, and enjoy the game and some yummy food!
Finally, enjoy our pictures from the week. Blogger was not letting me upload directly to the blog so I created a iCloud link that anyone can view. If you’d like the blog or pictures emailed to you send me a message at LSeibert@zionmonroe.org or text me at (808) 223-2621. Stay warm friends!
