Kk is for keys!

This week we are talking about the sight and sound of the letter Kk and keys! We will be using them and trying them out in all sorts of ways!

Our KDI for the week is measuring-children measure to describe, compare and order things. We can put keys in order of smallest to biggest, use a key to measure instead of inches, look for the bigger or smaller key, and make key patterns.

Table Activities- Our table activities include tracing keys, unlocking and locking padlocks, keys and playdough, cutting out key shapes, key coloring pages, gluing foil on a giant key, a key sensory bin and putting keys on a key ring.

Small Group -  This week's small group activities are making a shrinky dink key ring, measuring with keys, adding Kk is for key to our journal and sorting keys into groups.

Large Group- We will dance with keys and find hidden keys for this week's large group.

Books of the Week-  "Keys" by Sacha Cotter and Josh Morgan and "Good Night Gorilla" by Peggy Rathman.

Bible Story- In this week's Bible Story, we hear the account of Jesus feeding over 5000 people. Jesus had withdrawn to a solitary place by boat. His cousin and predecessor, John the Baptist, had just been beheaded by King Herod. (We won't cover that story in preschool). He needed some time with just Him and His Father. The people found him. They came to him with their sick and he had compassion on them. He found time to heal them and preach and teach them. As evening approached, his disciples encouraged him to send the crowd home. He looked at his disciples and said, "You feed them." They showed him what they had, 5 loaves and 2 fish. He told them to bring it to him. He blessed the food and then began break them apart. He gave them to his disciples and they gave them to the people. The people ate until they were satisfied and the disciples collected 12 baskets of leftover food.

Why do we worry? Seriously, why? When we have a God who can do this? There is absolutely no reason to worry ever. Worrying is a sin, it is not trusting God and there is nothing that God has ever done to make Him untrustworthy. We don't have to worry about finances, or health or what we shall eat or what we shall wear. God will provide!

I am not advocating for being reckless, blowing our money on un-Godly things or doing things like eating or drinking to excess.

God provides for his people and often for those who aren't his people- He sends rain to the righteous and the unrighteous- Matthew 5:45. God provides all you need! Maybe if He doesn't give it, you don't need it. Trust Him, He loves you more than you can imagine!
