Sept 29-Oct 3

Hello Parents!

The good news is that the children are definitely comfortable at school now. All fears about us teachers are gone. They know what to expect, and really have the schedule down pat. The bad news is the kids are definitely comfortable at school now. That means their behavior isn't as subdued as it was at the beginning of school. They are now more their "usual" selves. That is good.

This coming week is going to be filled with more Science than usual. I'm very excited. I am going to try these things at home first, but if all goes well, we will be making invisible ink that we will then later  make visible! (I'm hoping to do that 2 days in a row.) We will be making ice cream in a sealable baggie on Wed. It will just be vanilla flavored, but I am hoping to bring in toppings if the children would like to put some on their ice cream. Finally, we will be mixing our primary colors to get our secondary colors. As I said, hopefully, everything will work out. We will also be learning about the letter "I" and ice cream, and the number 4. For our Bible lesson, we will be learning about Baby Moses. I mention this to you because Pharaoh made a law that said all baby boy Israelites were to be killed. Unfortunately, I cannot leave out that detail in the story, because then the story won't make sense. I will, however, let the children know that that happened a super long time ago, and no one does that anymore, because we all know that is not ok to do. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call me over the weekend before school on Monday.

Finally, just a heads up, that the week of Oct 6-10, we will only have school on Mon and Tues of that week. On Tues we will not have any classes here at school. That is a field trip day, and we will meet all of you at Sterling Park. Bring a kite with you so we can fly them there in a nice open area. Again, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask us. There are more details in the school news letter.

May God bless you with lots of fun this weekend!
