S is for snake, slime, Silly Sally by Audrey Wood, our friend Sylvie, saxophone, singing, spider, and show and tell!
Can you believe we’ve already been in school for a whole month? Wow! We’ve been learning so much. This week was BUSY! We painted with string, made slime, pet a snake named Iggy, listened to music from a saxophone, and had our first show and tell. Pssst, it’ll be every Thursday. Our books of the week were Silly Sally by Audrey Wood and Be Nice to Spiders by Margaret Bloy Graham.
Next week will be pretty busy too. We’ll kick off our week with Christian Education Sunday. Grades PreK-8 will sing our school year theme song. Please wear your SOAR school shirts. The kiddos can meet in our room at 8:45am. After we sing we’ll come find you. Following service will be our annual Pinewood Derby! Even if you didn’t make a car, you’re welcome to stay for the fun and lunch.
On Wednesday it is Grandparents’ Day! Grandparents’ are invited to school for chapel, a song led by our preschoolers, and bingo-with prizes of course! AM preschool grandparents can come to school and meet us in our classroom at 8am so you can sit with your grandchild at chapel. PM preschool Grandparents’ Day will begin at 2 and end at 3. Grandparents are welcome to come to class and walk down with their grandchild or meet us in the gym.
Next week is the last week to order mums. They’re 10” and just $10 each. Available in yellow, purple, white, orange, and red. Your order can be picked up in the gym on September 30. All money raised goes to support new water filtration for our school drinking fountains. See me to place your order. Below is an actual picture of what your mums will look like. They’re beautiful!
And now, all our pics from the week! Enjoy your weekend, and I hope to see you Sunday!
