Hello Parents,
Great job remembering Show and Tell! Out of the 17 students, 17 children brought something for Show and Tell! They were all so happy! It was a really nice thing to see their joy.
Next week we will be learning about the letter "c." We will look at the clarinet, and listen to what it sounds like. We will focus more on colors, however. We will talk about primary colors, and then mix them to get our secondary colors. We will also review our numbers 1, 2 and 3. I have games to play to help us with that.
This week we also started doing some "worksheets" to start to develop our fine motor skills. We will be doing those type of worksheets more and more. Now that the children are really into the groove of school and its routine, we are going to start to do a bit more of that kind of thing. That does not mean they are going to be doing tons of worksheets. I most certainly don't want to overwhelm them with worksheets before they even enter Kindergarten! We do need to do a small number of them to help develop those fine motor skills, however. I do have a few games they will be playing to develop their fine motor skills also.
Our main song for this week is "Rock Your Body to the Colors" by Jack Hartmann.
Finally, just a reminder that on Oct. 7th, we will be going on a school wide field trip to Sterling Park for a Kite day event. You will need to drive your child to the park and home again. We are not allowed to transport the children. We also ask that you bring your own kite. More details will be coming later on next week. I have a few questions myself that I need some clarification on before I tell you. I don't want to give you incorrect information and confuse us all. Thank you so much for your patience!
Hope you all have a great weekend!
Serving Christ in Joyful Song,
Sharon Dorow
