Zion Preschool: Exploring the letters W and E!

We’ve had a busy couple of weeks here in the preschool! From hearing and vision screenings to Kindergarten Round Up to watching caterpillars grow and enjoying the warmer weather outside. And we’re just getting started!

This week brought a special surprise to our classroom—painted lady caterpillars! We’re super excited to watch them grow, change, and eventually become butterflies. It’s a great hands on way for us to learn about ecology like it’s life cycle and the role it plays in nature. Have you checked them out on the sign in table? The caterpillars are getting big! I’m thinking we might see some chrysalises next week.

This week we also started learning our songs for our upcoming Spring Fling. Zion’s Spring Fling is a variety night and this year’s theme is Americana. Every class will do a song or skit. Preschool will be doing “Yankee Doodle” and “I’m in the Lord’s Army”.

Next week will be all about the letter “X”, and just like the little bunny in “Not A Box” we’ll use our imaginations to see what we can transform our boxes into!

Toledo Mud Hens, May 06-This is a no school day for Preschool. You are more than welcome to join us for chapel before the game at 8am. We’ll leave Zion around 9am. There are multiple places to park around 5/3 Field, and most of them are pretty cheap, if not free. I’d suggest bringing cash to pay for parking just in case. I usually park over by Grumpy’s on S Huron Street. It’s a quick walk to 5/3 and an easy out when it’s time to leave.

Zion’s Spring Fling, May 08-This is a variety show we put on every other year. Our theme this year is Americana as we look forward to celebrating 250 years of independence. Our show will begin at 7pm. If you can help us with nut free cookie donations here is the Sign Up Genius.

HCA Track Meet, May 13-This will be a NO SCHOOL day due to the Upper Graders track meet at Hope Christian Academy in Westland. If you’re free, come cheer on our Warriors!

Preschool Graduation, May 20-Less than a month away! 😮 How can it be? Preschool Graduation will take place at 10:30am in church with our school picnic and skating party to follow. Stay tuned for more info, but get your family and friends invited!
