April 20-23 letter "e"

Hello everybody! I hope you all had a great vacation! Our first week back was so busy! Tuesday during the day, we had our eyes and ears tested.  Tuesday night was Literacy Night. That was my 1st time for that event. I have to say, I really enjoyed it! It was a fun event with an open house attached to it. On Thursday during the day, the children that are eligible to go to Kindergarten or Early 5s went to spend an hour with Mrs. Sordahl to get an idea of what Kindergarten and Early 5s will be like. They all enjoyed the experience. We also managed to get some learning in. We learned about the letter "w", and we also practiced adding and subtracting by listening to story problems. I was very happy with how well they did.

This coming week we will be learning about the letter "e." We will learn about elephants to help us remember the sound letter "e" makes. Along with learning about elephants, we will learn the song, "Stomp! Count to Five" by Super Simple Songs. We will also be concentrating on numbers 1-12 in Math.

On May 1st, we will have our Spring Fling. That is a show the whole school will put on. There will be singing, a skit, and some patriotic songs to celebrate our nations 250th year as a nation. So we will be starting to learn those songs this week.

On May 6th (a Wednesday) the whole school is invited to go to a Mudhens game in Toledo. Some of you will be going but others have opted to not go. That is fine. If you are not going to the game, please be aware that there will be NO SCHOOL that day for anyone. I will be at the Mudhens game. I am definitely a baseball fan. :)

I can't think of anything else. I'm probably missing something, but I'll just have to post another blog. God bless you!!
