Let’s go fly a kite…

 …up to the highest height.

AM and PM preschool will have no school classes this day. Pack your kites and home lunches and join us for some fun in the sun at Sterling State Park. Read below for more info.

This is a school family field trip, so parents and siblings are invited!

After our regular morning classes, we will head over to Sterling State Park, 2800 State Park Road, for an afternoon of fun and kite flying. Students and families should bring themselves a picnic lunch and drinks, and kites to fly(homemade or purchased). We will have access to the park picnic shelter and playground, and we plan to bring the CEA shave-ice machine!

There is no cost to participate, but a Michigan State Park pass is required (typically purchased with your automobile license). If you don’t have one on your MI license plate, the Monroe County Library has a limited number of passes available for library card holders through the Michigan Activity Pass program https://mymcls.com/michigan-activity-pass/. We will also try to connect non-pass holders with pass holders who can carpool to the park together (just 10 minutes away).

So pack your picnic lunch and grab your kites on Tuesday, October 7 and join the Zion school family for some outdoor fun before our conference break!

Please register your student’s or family’s participation at the Google Form linked here  https://forms.gle/CK1wtyQmgLsD9DJ58 or scan the QR code below.

Telegraph Closure

Just a reminder that part of Telegraph will be closed from September 29-October 20th.

The Letter C

Mrs. Dorow and I have had so much fun getting to know your kids and teaching them. I know I say that a lot, but it really has been so much fun watching them grow, help, learn, and settle into this place called school. We are so blessed!

This week we learned about the letter “C”. C is for our friend Conner, clarinet, cows, crayons, coat, and colors. PM Preschool had chapel this week and got to sit with their chapel groups which are named after our national parks like Denali, Yellowstone, and my fave, Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Our Bible story this week saw Joseph become second-in-command in Egypt after interpreting Pharoah’s dreams. Joseph endured many hardships to get there: betrayal, injustice, imprisonment. Through it all Joseph remained faithful to the Lord and ultimately forgave his brothers and saved his family and the entire region from starvation. Saddleback Kids is a great visual to go along with our Bible stories, click on the links so you can rewatch Joseph in Egypt and Joseph Forgives together. Our books this week were CLICK, CLACK, MOO Cows That Type by Doreen Cronin and The Crayon Box that Talked by Shane DeRolf. We also heard a new song, and listened to some oldies but goodies. Repetition is a great learning tool at this age!
