All about the letter K!

We had a lot of fun exploring the letter “K” in preschool this week. There was a lot of excitement about kangaroos, keys, kinetic sand, and our friend Kai!

On Monday we got to hang out with the MLS Children’s Theatre. Their play was The Enchanted Bookshop by Todd Wallinger. It was both magical and entertaining. I look forward to seeing them every year!

We also had a very special guest join us! Our former preschool director and teacher, Mrs. Schneck filled in while Mrs. Dorow was on vacation. Mrs. Schneck brought so much love to our classroom. We all enjoyed learning and spending time with her.

Did you know that a kangaroo can jump 25-30ft in a single bound? We tried to jump like a kangaroo but we didn’t make it very far! 🤣 It was fun trying though!

In our Bible story, we learned about Jesus triumphant ride into Jerusalem, the washing of the disciples feet, and the Last Supper. We waved palm branches and shouted hosanna, which means save us. We didn’t get our feet washed but we did get to experience having our hands washed by Mrs. Schneck, and we got to experience what the Last Supper might have tasted like with grape juice and matzos. Here are the links to our Saddleback Kids videos: The Triumphant EntryJesus Washes His Disciples’ FeetThe Last Supper.

Our hands on this week was kinetic sand. We buried keys and kangaroos. We built sand castles and made lattes. We made birthday cakes and looked for buried treasure. We even made our own kinetic sand to bring home.

Two more weeks until spring break! But first the letter “H”, and  then on Wednesday will be our school shirt day and PM chapel, and on Thursday we’ll be visiting the MCLS Bookmobile (Also, we’re still looking for a missing book, so if you happen to see a library book laying around send it in with your kiddo please!) Finally, on Friday at 6:30pm we have a special event that you all are invited to. The MLS Concert Choir will be visiting!

Have a blessed weekend, we’ll see ya Monday!
