Our First Month of Preschool!

Hello, Preschool Fam!

Welcome to my first blog post of the 2026–2027 school year! I plan to share a new post about once a month to give you a peek at what we have been learning and enjoying together. I am also back in school myself, working toward becoming an Early Childhood Education director like Mrs. Dorow! Life is busy, but I am excited to continue learning alongside our preschoolers.

Special Moments Together

On September 9, we met our chapel buddies for the first time! The kiddos enjoyed getting to know the other students and working together to color posters for their chapel groups.

On September 13, our preschoolers sang in church for the first time this school year as part of Christian Education Sunday. They joined the K–2 students in singing “Glory to Heaven,” and it was so beautiful to hear their voices praising Jesus!

Grandparents Day was also a wonderful success! Our preschoolers did an amazing job performing their song, skit, and handbell song. We are so proud of them! Thank you to all the grandparents who joined us and helped make the morning so memorable.

On September 17, we joined the kindergarten class for music and movement with colorful scarves. The preschoolers loved singing, moving, and watching the bright colors twirl through the air!

Learning in Our Classroom

We have been busy learning about the letters Aa and Bb and the numbers 1 and 2. The children are also doing a great job working in their Number and Skills books with Button Bear—you may have already seen some of their completed pages being brought home! It is exciting to watch their confidence grow as they practice new skills.

During Jesus Time, we learned how God created our beautiful world and everything in it. We also learned about the Tower of Babel and what happened when the people became prideful and did not follow God’s plan. Through each Bible lesson, we are reminded of God’s power, love, and care for us.

I also plan to display pictures from our preschool days on the board in our classroom play area. This will give the children a chance to look back at the fun things we have done and talk about their memories.

We have had a wonderful start to our school year, and I am so proud of how much our preschoolers are already learning and growing. I look forward to sharing more of our classroom adventures with you throughout the year!

May God bless you and your family!

Liz

It's Going to be an Exciting Week!

 Hello Parents,

I'm so excited for this coming week! There is a great deal of fun things happening. The first exciting thing is this Sunday, Sept. 13th in our 9:00 am service. The children in grades Pre-2 will be singing the song "Glory to Heaven" at the very beginning of the service. Please bring your child to our classroom by 8:45. You will drop off your child, and then you can get a seat in church. We will bring the children to church and have them go to the front of church to sing. When they are done singing, they will be looking for you so they can sit with you for the rest of the service. I suggest that when the children are done singing, you stand up and quietly call your child. This will help them find you a bit easier. Of course, Mrs. Seibert and I will help the children, too.

Our next event is at noon on Sunday also. That will be the Pinewood Derby. That takes place in our gym. If you have not already made a car, unfortunately, you won't be able to participate. You can watch the races, however. It's a fun day. There will be food to purchase, also.

On Wednesday, it is Grandparents/Special Person day. That starts at 8:00 am as usual. Instead of bringing your child to our classroom, Grandparents can take your child straight to the church. At 8:00 we will have a short church service. When that is over, we ask that the Grandparents bring the children to the gym. There we will take the children with us. That is because the Preschool children will be providing a bit of entertainment. When they are done, the children will again sit with their Grandparents. We will play Bingo. When that is over, the Grandparents can take the children home. There will be no afternoon Preschool that day.

Finally, on Thursday, we will be joining the Kindergarten children for part of the day to learn to dance with scarves . I am very excited! We will still have Show and Tell that day, however.

This coming week will be a review of the letters A and B and the numbers 1 and 2.

Hope you have a great weekend!,
