 Hello!

Today we painted with apple halves. I have to say, it was a bit tricky. At first the apples got slippery from the paint. Then the apples got stuck in the paint and we had a hard time getting the apples to let go of the tray of paint. Fortunately, after a bit of trial and error, we got the hang of it, and had a good time. We also brought home a counting apple book.

Along with our letter "a" we learned about the accordion and the autoharp.. We even got to feel how the autoharp can tickle our hand when we made the sound on it stop. Next week  I hope to start to let the children play on the autoharp. This will hopefully help with letter recognition and give them an early love of music and playing an instrument.

I would like to remind you that there is no school on Monday due to the Labor day weekend.

Next week we will be learning about the letter "m." Along with the letter m, we will be learning about the mandolin (and Bluegrass music), and music in general. We will also talk a little bit about moose. In Math we will be concentrating on the number zero and one. Our new songs of the week will be "Oh How I Love Jesus" and "Three Kind Mice" by Raffi.

Praying your Labor Day break is fun and relaxing!
