A is for Apple

Good afternoon! Mrs. Dorow and I had a very fun and productive week with your kiddos.

We continued our week with the letter “A”. From applesauce to alligators to accordions and autoharps and friends whose names that start with “A”. The kids tasted different types of apples and got to test their knife skills out by chopping up apples for some delicious homemade applesauce. Watch out Gordon Ramsay, future MasterChef’s in the making! We also painted with apples, made a little apple book, felt the strings vibrating on the autoharp, and learned to sign along to the song “Jesus Loves Me”.

Our books this week were “Chicka Chicka Boom Boom” by Bill Martin and John Archambault, “The Wide Mouthed Frog: A POP-UP BOOK by Keith Faulkner, and “Ten Apples Up On Top” by Dr. Seuss writing as Theo LeSieg, and we listened and sang along to a class fave: The Wide-Mouthed Bullfrog

Did you find a painted rock? Aren’t they the coolest?! Keep it or take it home and hide it for someone else to find.

There are some awesome events coming up at school. Our 1st one is our annual Pinewood Derby. Everyone is invited to participate. Check out the flyer!

Right after that will be our annual Grandparents Day on Wednesday, September 17th. The kids will be able to spend the morning playing bingo with their grandparents after our morning chapel. There’ll also be a special afternoon Grandparents Day for the PM class from 12-1. Kids without grandparents attending will still be able to participate!

Also, just a reminder: NO PEANUTS or TREE NUTS. We have severe, epipen needed, peanut allergies in both AM and PM classes. Please, please, please double check your snacks before sending them in. Thank you!

Here are pictures from the week. Enjoy!
